The former monastary in the town of Werben, located on the river Elbe between Hamburg and Berlin, will be reactivated with housing and offices. In order to improve the usability of a central historic building a balcony will be added. Since the building is protected, the balcony can not be an addition to the facade. Instead a group of trees will carry a platform in the treetops, creating an atmospheric space green space and respecting the historic construction at the same time. The design was created in a workshop on site together with the planers from OFEA.
